The Lions Spectacles Recycling Programme

Adur East Lions want your old specs!

Have you got an old pair of spectacles in your drawer at home?
Have you just replaced a pair of "old faithfulls" after years of sterling service?

Well, if so, the Lions would like to have them! If you drop your old spectacles (and/or hearing aids) into your local optician (see below for details of those participating) and put them into one of our special recycling bins, the Lions will arrange for them to be collected, sorted, graded and desptached to a developing world country, where they can gain a whole new lease of life and help someone else with sight problems.

The service is free to you and Lions will arrange the transportation and grading

Recently, the Lions collected a batch of old spectacles from one of our local opticians and pictured are Lions John and Richard with club mascot Jasper ready to transport them to Chichester Lions, who undertake the process to sort and ship the specs for grading on behalf of Adur East Lions as well as a large number of other Lions clubs throughout the UK
