The International Association of Lions Clubs

The Lions International has a history of over 80 years, from its beginnings in the United States in 1917 to today when it numbers over 40,000 clubs with a membership of more than 1,4000,000  in about 180 countries and areas worldwide.
For more details see the Lion's International website and the UK Headquarters website .
Lions Clubs are non-political and non-sectarian but subscribe to common objects and a code of ethics.
Each Lions Club is autonomous in its activities and how it gives the money it raises, provided it follows the rules and principles common to all Lions.
