ADUR EAST LIONS HELPS NEW RESOURCE CENTRE START COOKING...

Adur East Lions recently donated £1000 to the Shoreham & District Mental Health Association.

The Association have recently moved into a larger centre, known as The Corner House Resource Centre, Southwick Street, Southwick, having outgrown the building which they have been renting at a peppercorn rent from Adur District Council for over 10 years.

Pauline Russell, Project Co-ordinator says "We are delighted that we will have our own building which will bring more security for Adur residents who are coping with mental health problems on a daily basis.  The £1000 that Adur East Lions have kindly donated will help us buy new commercial kitchen equipment.

The new centre will be open 7 days a week and offers:

bullet Cooked daily meals
bullet Complementary therapies
bullet Outings and sporting activities within the district

There is also a Pathways Project helping those who are trying to get back into the workforce or need training.

The Organisation was originally formed in 1982 and is a lifeline for those with mental health problems in helping them to learn or regain skills they may have lost during their illness.
